Copeland 5th Grade Basketball Expectations
Intramural basketball is a district-wide activity that all 5th graders are invited to join. This is a team where every student gets to play and have fun. No basketball experience is required. There will be no tryouts.
What you need to know before signing up:

All students are expected to show our Copeland values both on and off the basketball court.

Two unexcused absences will result in loss of playing time and/or termination from the team.

If a student does not attend school on a particular day, that student will not be eligible to participate in the practice or game scheduled on that day.

Games are played in February and March, in the form of a tournament, against the other 3 elementary schools in District 70. The game schedule will be distributed as soon as it’s ready.

Copeland Basketball Practice Details

Players are expected to attend every practice.

Players should wear athletic shoes and clothes.

A solid breakfast or after school snack and plenty of water will fuel you for practice.

Do you have your own basketball? Bring it! Make sure your name is on it. If you don’t have your own basketball, don’t worry. We have some at Copeland too.

Safety is always our top priority. If a basketball player is being unsafe in any way, coaches will address the behavior. If the behavior is not corrected, it may result in loss of playing time.
