Welcome to Copeland Manor Elementary School in Libertyville School District 70.

Copeland is home to approximately 373 kindergarten through 5th grade students.  We have an extremely supportive community that embraces the mission of being “Cougars.” That mission includes providing students and their families with a safe and happy environment where students grow as learners and citizens.  Students, parents and our phenomenal Copeland teaching staff partner to make Copeland a very special place.

The Copeland School environment fosters a positive mindset that encourages creativity, confidence, and kindness toward others.  Our goal is to build  social-emotional, and academic and physical strength through a rigorous and adaptive curriculum implementation.  The Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) through the Copeland Promise Plan provides a predictable and united sense of responsibility and respect for our school and district community, among staff and students alike.  Together, we celebrate our positive school culture.

Copeland is a busy place.  With the support of an involved Copeland Family Association, parents volunteer their time and resources to provide enrichment to each students’ learning experience. We welcome parent participation. Copeland also offers many clubs and activities to students outside of school hours, such as Sign Language Club, Student Council, and basketball, among others.  We have an active arts program,  with chorus, orchestra and band, as well as a Drama Club.  Inside the classroom and across the school, Copeland students have multiple opportunities to learn and grow.

It was no surprise that Copeland Manor School received the National Blue Ribbon award for Excellence in 2017.

I am a very proud principal who is spending her 11th year at Copeland Manor in the 2023-24 school year.

My very best wishes for health and happiness,

Dr. Lori Poelking, Principal
