Adler Teacher Lisa Piskule Honored with Those Who Excel Award

Adler Park’s exceptional 5th-grade teacher, Lisa Piskule, has been selected to receive the Award of Special Recognition in the Classroom Teacher category as part of Illinois’ Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year honors—one of the most distinguished accolades in education, awarded by the Illinois State Board of Education.

Nominated by Dr. Bongle and Mrs. Miller, Ms. Piskule was recognized for her extraordinary depth of teaching expertise, unwavering commitment to her students, and ability to inspire both learners and colleagues alike. As a second-career educator, her impact in the classroom is nothing short of transformative—so much so that her principal describes her teaching as life-changing for students.

"I’m truly honored, but honestly, I feel undeserving of such an award because I work with so many INCREDIBLE people," Ms. Piskule shared. "I would not be the educator I am today without my team. Their support and collaboration mean everything to me.

"More than anything, I feel so grateful for the amazing students and families I get to work with each day. They inspire me, challenge me, and remind me why I love what I do."

Ms. Piskule will be celebrated alongside other outstanding educators at a formal banquet on May 17th, marking a well-deserved moment of recognition for her profound dedication and impact.
